We have just returned home from purchasing our new car from South Point and Jay P. This was our first time buying a new car and Jay made the process very easy. We loved the atmosphere at South Point Hyundai, busy with sales but all the employees could not have been nicer - even gave our son some pizza that was going! Jay gave us space to browse the cars, great knowledge of each model and honest about model vs price/specs. We will be buying a second car at the end of the year and this will be where we will be going.

They can improve by doing their job in the service department. I had my vehicles towed there because it wouldn’t start and the one time it did, it was smoking. I figured I’d take it to dealer because of recalls that may be the cause of the smoking engine. Also thought they could do state inspection and oil change. My vehicle sat there for 3 or 4 days and only thing done was charge the battery. They followed up with ~ $2k worth of work that had nothing to do with anything. No state inspection done even though they said the did it, so they called me several times demanding pay, but I was at WORK doing my job successfully. Finally got some free time and made payment. Get a call ~ 2days later stating they never did the inspection after all and if I would like to come in and do it since I already paid. I said NO and wanted refund. Well, I had to argue over a couple days to get the refund. Worst place you can take your car. Salesman are your typical vultures and are not “friendly” if you’re not serious about purchasing. Never buying Hyundai brand again. This place ruined it for me.

Sam E was great to work with. I was looking for a specific vehicle and he had it on his lot; he sent pics and we planned a time that day. We discuss financing option via text as well. Upon arrival he sent me immediately out to test drive, and he got my car back for trade-in appraisal. Even though we had done alot up front, we still had a hard negotiation over #'s and he stuck with me and had a great attitude. It was a 4 hour process (arrival to departure)...it was a Saturday (super busy day for them). Sam got to know me personally and shared about himself, that's the name of the game in sales...he made sure I left with a hot coffee and bottled waters and even offered an early plate for dinner! FINANCE was my favorite, Sheldon was AWESOME to work with! I also got to know him personally, and we shared lots of laughs! This guy was PHENOMINAL! As for Management I worked with Mike Ortiz...no BS with this guy ;-).

We drove 2 hours to go see 2 used cars next door at the Audi dealership. I’d been working with a salesman there and he had them ready for me when we got there. As we finally pulled up, someone else was pulling up in my car that I was pretty sure I was going to get. They had just finished test driving it and bought it. We were just 10 minutes too late. I was pretty upset so we walked next door to the Hyundai dealership and were immediately greeted by friendly, personable people. I told them I was in the market for a Palisade and Jay came up and showed them to us. He was extremely knowledgeable about them and taught me everything I needed to know without wasting any of our time. He was honest, caring, smart and efficient. We were given a better deal on the Palisade, but less on my trade. I started feeling unsure about it and decided to go home and think about it, and then the sales managers Mike and Sonny came in and made sure we were happy by offering me what the other dealerships were for my trade, making them the best deal. Not only did I get the best deal, but I felt taken care of, I felt like I was valued by being there. I’ve been to a lot of dealerships searching for the right car and the right deal, but it’s about more than that. There are so many yucky salesmen out there that only care about making a sale and you know they are just saying what they need to say to try to make the sale, including lying to get it. I finally found a place where I didn’t get that yucky feeling from them. We have a Hyundai dealership 5 minutes down the road from where I live, and I’ve been there many times while shopping for my car. I can say with full confidence that this location is well worth the 2 hour drive, and then some, for the way they treat their customers. Thank you Jay, Mike, and Sonny, for making my dream car purchase finally come true!!!

Once I got my car home from the lot, I was showing my...

Once I got my car home from the lot, I was showing my partner the features of the car and we both noticed the front camera was cracked to the point of affecting visibility for the front view. I went back the next day and let the staff know of the issue. They told me the warranty might not cover it because I had already taken the car home, and it could have happened on the ride home. Sure, that's reasonable, but I have since called multiple times, stopped by multiple times (each time told that Chris in service was not available) to see if I can get it fixed, regardless if I have to pay for it or not. Nobody has ever returned my calls or emails. Even Eddie Gomez, the Customer Relations Manager, has not returned my calls or emails. So, Eddie, why did you reach out with a generic email asking how my customer service was if you never intended to actually provide me with any customer service? So, as much as I love my car, and I'm happy I got it, I am still driving around with a busted front camera and nobody at Hyundai has responded to me.

Lease quote was too high

I was interested in getting a lease for a G70. I spent the prior month studying how to calculate lease payments and even built my own spreadsheet to help do the math quickly (i.e. in a dealership). I verified my spreadsheet by using actual lease deals in Texas found on the internet. I did all this research because I know dealers will take advantage of the complicated lease payment math to benefit themselves. Sure enough...the lease payment they offered to me was extremely high for the price of the car they were quoting me. Fortunately, I didn't fall for their trap and I walked away from the deal. BTW...This happened at each of the three dealers I tried to get a lease payment quote from so make sure you do your homework before negotiating any lease with any dealer.

My experience buying my Hyundai Santa Fe was the best from any dealership I have ever been to visit. I did not have to settle for things not wanted. Sam was excellent and very patient with me and my mini daschund. And Jerrod came to let me know everything would be ok but takes time. Service manager that say was also not trying to push me into getting a vehicle I would be unhappy with having. The financial guy was equally as helpful and put me at ease Even the lady who took my money was terrific in taking care of me. At a different dealer, the sales consultant tried to coerce me into buying a vehicle that did not match everything I wanted, citing the lack of vehicles available in 2021. I was not interested in being pressured or lied to! Then I spoke with Pouya Yahyavi at South Point. What a difference! Not only did he find the exact vehicle I wanted, but he also built a relationship with me and gave me confidence that he was working in my best interests. He was extremely authentic and more than delivered on his trustworthiness and genuine wish to serve me. I pre-purchased the vehicle by phone, and when I arrived at the dealer, my new Tucson with every feature I had wanted was waiting for me. Pouya had taken care of everything in advance, and all I had to do was sit down with finance. He stayed in touch with me after the purchase, ensuring that I was still satisfied with my new vehicle. Every person I talk to will know that my experience at South point Hyundai was amazing because of my salesman Sheldon Boyce. I had gone to downtown Austin to buy a Ford Edge at the Ford dealership next-door. They lied on their website and they were shady, so I left. As I was driving away I saw the Honda dealership and decided to stop in. I was greeted by Sheldon and treated so well. I told him what I wanted. He was honest and told me he didn’t know if he could do it but that he was going to try his hardest. Well guess what? I got the car I wanted. He went to bat for me and I am so grateful. Once I got my car home from the lot, I was showing my partner the features of the car and we both noticed the front camera was cracked to the point of affecting visibility for the front view. I went back the next day and let the staff know of the issue. They told me the warranty might not cover it because I had already taken the car home, and it could have happened on the ride home. Sure, that's reasonable, but I have since called multiple times, stopped by multiple times (each time told that Chris in service was not available) to see if I can get it fixed, regardless if I have to pay for it or not. Nobody has ever returned my calls or emails. Even Eddie Gomez, the Customer Relations Manager, has not returned my calls or emails. So, Eddie, why did you reach out with a generic email asking how my customer service was if you never intended to actually provide me with any customer service? So, as much as I love my car, and I'm happy I got it, I am still driving around with a busted front camera and nobody at Hyundai has responded to me.

I can't even tell you how amazing my experience with Timmy Wiles was. He called me at 9am, based on my request for a vehicle they had, by noon my new car was in my drive way. We did everything over the phone and signed papers when Timmy personally delivered the car to my house. He explained everything to me (the finance guy Sheldon also explained the warranty, gap insurance, and other perks when he called me to go over the finance options) Timmy showed me how the new features work and set me up with Bluelink. Again I can't even explain how easy the process was. I love the new car and am so greatful for the wondeful experience.

My experience buying my Hyundai Santa Fe was the best from any dealership I have ever been to visit. I did not have to settle for things not wanted. Sam was excellent and very patient with me and my mini daschund. And Jerrod came to let me know everything would be ok but takes time. Service manager that say was also not trying to push me into getting a vehicle I would be unhappy with having. The financial guy was equally as helpful and put me at ease Even the lady who took my money was terrific in taking care of me. Everyone made feel like I was home as did the car.just give everyone a 20 for that day.

I don't write many reviews, mostly because I just don't have time. But I wanted to make the time to review this dealership, and in particular my salesperson, Timmy Wiles. I have purchased several cars over my lifetime and even sold cars when I was in my early twenties. Timmy is hands-down the best salesperson with whom I have ever interacted. This time I was looking for a particular vehicle and had contacted at least eight different dealerships. During my car search, Timmy was the only salesperson who regularly checked in with me without being intrusive or annoying. He was always very polite, considerate, friendly, informative, and engaging. Timmy offered to come in on his days off and even on Sunday when the dealership was closed just so I could look at vehicles and he could answer questions. He gave me his personal cell phone number and whenever I texted him, he got back to me immediately every time. I had lots of questions on several occasions, and he never lost patience with me. Even when I thought it was not going to work out purchasing from Timmy and told him so, he was incredibly nice and understanding. Then, when I was able to make it work, Timmy did everything he could to get me the car I wanted when I wanted it. He even got me a better deal on my trade-in and better financing than was advertised. I am only in Austin about once a week (I live three+ hours away but come in regularly for work). The car I wanted was in route to the dealership and was scheduled to arrive the day I would be in Austin. Timmy kept checking on the vehicle and kept me informed. As soon as it arrived at the dealership (thankfully the Monday it was supposed to arrive), Timmy texted to let me know and even included photos! He immediately got my vehicle prepped so it was ready to go by the time I left work and kept me fully informed about its progress. When I arrived to get my vehicle, he made sure I was taken care of with all the paperwork so that I was in and out quickly. Because I needed to get on the road to head home, he offered to finish all the detailing and the extra window tint when I was back in Austin. He is a man of his word. Even though the deal was complete and he already had credit for the sale, he stayed in touch about finishing the work. I couldn't make it back to Austin for a few weeks, but when I was ready, I was able to drop my car off at the dealership and Timmy got me a very nice brand new loaner vehicle. He had my car completely detailed and the window tint applied by the time I was done with work. The car looked fantastic! He even made sure the detailers got rid of all the dog fur which was no small feat and took quite a long time (I have two German Shepherds that shed like crazy)!!!!! I could not be happier with my car buying experience here with Timmy as the salesperson. From now on I will try to buy all my vehicles from Timmy and will recommend him to everyone I know who needs to buy a vehicle.

When I walked in the door of the dealership, I expected what I have always gotten at most dealerships - mediocre service and insincere sales people. I was greeted by Timmy Wiles. I knew immediately this experience would be different. Timmy found my car for me due to his listening to what I really wanted. Immediately, he walked me through the application process and I walked out with a car in very little time and without an ounce of frustration! Unheard of! I bought my car a week ago and already I have referred several friends to Timmy. He is a consummate professional giving only his best at all times. The saying I think of when I reflect on my experience is "There's not alot of traffic on the extra mile". That says it all - Thanks, Timmy!

Sam E was great to work with. I was looking for a specific vehicle and he had it on his lot; he sent pics and we planned a time that day. We discuss financing option via text as well. Upon arrival he sent me immediately out to test drive, and he got my car back for trade-in appraisal. Even though we had done alot up front, we still had a hard negotiation over #'s and he stuck with me and had a great attitude. It was a 4 hour process (arrival to departure)...it was a Saturday (super busy day for them). Sam got to know me personally and shared about himself, that's the name of the game in sales...he made sure I left with a hot coffee and bottled waters and even offered an early plate for dinner! FINANCE was my favorite, Sheldon was AWESOME to work with! I also got to know him personally, and we shared lots of laughs! This guy was PHENOMINAL! As for Management I worked with Mike Ortiz...no BS with this guy ;-).

I cannot say the same for previous new car buying experiences at other dealerships. This was a welcome and refreshing change from what I've come to expect. I am genuinely grateful to Southpoint Hyundai for the transparency and respect every step of the way. Along with just doing the job, Derrick has a genuine passion and deep knowledge for the products he is selling. Initially it was difficult to determine how to get a Genesis service scheduled on line. You can’t, Have to go in on initial service to be assigned a service writer. Gilbert Was assigned and did a good job.

At a different dealer, the sales consultant tried to coerce me into buying a vehicle that did not match everything I wanted, citing the lack of vehicles available in 2021. I was not interested in being pressured or lied to! Then I spoke with Pouya Yahyavi at South Point. What a difference! Not only did he find the exact vehicle I wanted, but he also built a relationship with me and gave me confidence that he was working in my best interests. He was extremely authentic and more than delivered on his trustworthiness and genuine wish to serve me. I pre-purchased the vehicle by phone, and when I arrived at the dealer, my new Tucson with every feature I had wanted was waiting for me. Pouya had taken care of everything in advance, and all I had to do was sit down with finance. He stayed in touch with me after the purchase, ensuring that I was still satisfied with my new vehicle. Overall, my experience in buying a new vehicle was outstanding, thanks to Pouya. He never pressured me and went out of his way to ensure my comfort. Derrick was a pleasure to work with. Derrick shoots straight and got us into the car that we wanted as expediently as can be expected. I came in with my own financing and was not constantly pressured to let Southpoint meet/match my rate. The same approach carried over to add-ons (warranty/maintenance/gap/etc). I really appreciate the way that the products were presented and allowed to speak for themselves. Upon providing information, it was simply a matter of yes/no on my end with absolutely no pushiness. I cannot say the same for previous new car buying experiences at other dealerships. This was a welcome and refreshing change from what I've come to expect. I am genuinely grateful to Southpoint Hyundai for the transparency and respect every step of the way. Along with just doing the job, Derrick has a genuine passion and deep knowledge for the products he is selling. Derrick's enthusiasm for his craft and for Hyundai/Genesis was the best part of the experience as there is always the inevitable wait times during the car buying process and the informed conversation filled that time nicely. Congrats to Southpoint for hiring this guy. He is not phoning it in. He does an awesome job of evangelizing the brand and lets it sell itself. Also want to thank Tim for welcoming us upon arrival and getting us into the test drive and to Sheldon for getting us in and out of financing. It was a pleasure dealing with all of you. Once I got my car home from the lot, I was showing my partner the features of the car and we both noticed the front camera was cracked to the point of affecting visibility for the front view. I went back the next day and let the staff know of the issue. They told me the warranty might not cover it because I had already taken the car home, and it could have happened on the ride home. Sure, that's reasonable, but I have since called multiple times, stopped by multiple times (each time told that Chris in service was not available) to see if I can get it fixed, regardless if I have to pay for it or not. Nobody has ever returned my calls or emails. Even Eddie Gomez, the Customer Relations Manager, has not returned my calls or emails. So, Eddie, why did you reach out with a generic email asking how my customer service was if you never intended to actually provide me with any customer service? So, as much as I love my car, and I'm happy I got it, I am still driving around with a busted front camera and nobody at Hyundai has responded to me.

I brought my car in which is a 2017 Hyundai sonata because It's been burning oil to the point where I had to add a quart every week and a half to two weeks. I understand that there is a recall on a lot of the engines due to issues like this or just general engine failure. Took my car in Tuesday dropped it off had to get a Uber ride back to work which is about 30 minutes away, but not a big deal I kind of expected that. I was told Wednesday that I needed to get my oil change service records which I did and I turn them in Thursday morning. My service advisor Chris he told me he just needed to submit the documents and they needed to get approval from Hyundai before they could start re-work, again with something I figured it was gonna happen anyway so no big deal. I called him around Thursday afternoon and it seem to take a couple phone calls before I got a return call back. Was told they're still waiting for an answer back from Hyundai which means I have to get a ride home. Called again Friday morning about two or three times left a voice message no response. It was until I called the front office when he I was transferred to him and he picked up which was about noon time. Was told but there still waiting to hear back from Hyundai but he would let me know by the end of the day what was going on. At that point I was asking if there was any way they could help with either a loaner car or even some crappy trade-in to drive since rides from Uber or rides from friends well starting to cost me quite a bit. He said he'd let me know later that day. By 4:30 PM that same day I have still not heard anything so between 430 and 530 I probably called about 8 to 9 times and left at least one or two voicemails but still no response. Still no response on Saturday. Still no response on Monday which I called about five times throughout the day left a voicemail almost every single time. Well then I was pretty fed up and I decided I needed a different service advisor so I called Tuesday morning about 1030 requesting to get a hold of the manager for that service department. I was also informed that my service advisor was out on Monday, sure would've been nice to have been told that by him so I wouldn't of wasted all my time. I guess when the service advisor is out whoever he's taking care of is just left out in the wind until they get back. So I was transferred to the manager of the service department which I believe his name was Donnie, I left a voicemail about 1030 this morning here it is about three hours later I still have not received any call back. This is the one and only time since I've bought a vehicle brand new from there lot. I've never needed to take it in for anything and it's just very unfortunate that this is the type of service to expect. Never going to buy another car from this lot again never going to buy another Hyundai again I just hope I get some resolution to my case pretty soon. So just a quick summary since Friday afternoon till now I've called about 15 times and left multiple voice messages and I still haven't received any update yet.

I had the worst experience with their service department. The first service advisor was EXTREMELY rude wouldn't explain anything and I was about to take my car elsewhere when another advisor approached me and apologized, said they were short staffed and asked to assisted me. I explained I couldn't leave my vehicle over the whole weekend and was told I would be able to pick up my vehicle at the end of the day. I never received a call and my calls were not returned. Called again the next morning and was told it should be done at 1:30ish and then I was not able to get any further updates or calls returned. I had to drive 45 minutes to pop up to find out if my vehicle was complete and it was!! If I hadn't popped up they would have kept my vehicle all weekend which i specifically told them I couldn't do. After all this... my car is still not fixed and is making a horrible clunk noise when I start it and come to a complete stop. How do they say oh its just the clutch it's normal when it NEVER made this noise previously???? I WILL NEVER TAKE MY CAR BACK TO THIS PLACE FOR SERVICE!! Make the drive to San Marcos or Round Rock and avoid this place!!@

I purchased a new Hyundai Venue in September of 2020, and at the time was told they couldn’t find my spare key, so they would be getting me a brand new one. There were then 2 weeks of being told I’d get the key in the next couple days, only to be told another couple of days when that day arrived. I finally got fed up and asked to speak with a manager, and that’s when Steve came into the picture. He then continued to explain that the key had just been ordered that morning. Here I am 2 & 1/2months later, and I still don’t have a spare key. And guess what? Steve told me that it just got ordered last night and now won’t be here until next week. Will never do business with this dealership again.

This was the most horrendous customer experience I have had in a long time. I generally let these things go by the wayside especially to give grace in light of the COVID-19 situation, but I was treated so poorly, I will never bring my car back to this dealership/service center nor purchase another car from this dealership which is a shame because we were loyal Hyundai customers and purchased/leased three cars from Sonny (who I adore). I had Ryan as my service manager when I dropped my car off, but mysteriously, 10 days later, Ryan no longer worked at the service department. Regardless, I received a call telling me my car was ready the day after I dropped it off, which I knew was a lie. Long story short, I shouldn't have received that call, and then I proceeded to receive a call apologizing for the misinformation. 10 days later, I hadn't received an actual update about the status of my car and I had to persistently call and text just to get an update. After talking with John, and Steve, and bothering the poor receptionist to death, I was able to talk through some recommendations for my car. I was then told (after my car had been in the shop for 15 days at this point) the car would be ready the next morning. Great- I went in the next morning to pick it up, and guess what, it was not ready. I shouldn't have been surprised with the terrible service I had received for the past 15 days. After waiting for an additional 45 minutes, having a minor melt-down in the waiting room, I finally got my car and I think these people were just so glad to have me out of their hair. Honestly, I had an AMAZING experience with Patricia has my consultant last year and she is the ONLY good thing about that department. This past experience was dreadful and I do not recommend working with these incredibly unprofessional people.

This was the single worst customer experience I have ever had. The Service Advisor and on-site Genesis Concierge had a communication failure so the items to be handled during my appointment were not accounted for by the advisor and her attitude was horrible. Pro tip: never throw your colleagues under the bus in front of a customer. We’re not there to take sides and really don’t care about how busy you are. The worst part though was that the mechanic failed to properly secure the Under Cover to my vehicle and it detached as I was on the highway on my way home from the dealership. This caused a major safety hazard and shows that this dealership does not have the best and brightest working for them, nor do they check their work to assure a vehicle is safe to drive after service. They also failed to top off all fluids despite signing off on doing so. I have no confidence in South Point Hyundai and will never do business with them again. I will never buy a part from them and they will certainly never touch a vehicle I own again. I was planning on buying a G70 in the fall and this experience and the way the ABS recall has been handled will definitely take the G70 out of consideration. I have communicated my experience with this dealership to Genesis USA and they recommended another dealership in the area to fix the mistakes of South Point Hyundai.

I worked with Pedro (Salesperson) and Riley (Finance Manager). Pedro was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Communication is GREAT at this dealership. I got my trade-in appraised, finance complete, new vehicle serviced and was on the road in under 2 hours! Everyone is so warm and friendly down to the receptionist. I felt so comfortable throughout the entire process. Hands down, the best car shopping experience I have ever had! Riley was very knowledgeable and gave me the best deal. Both gentlemen were truly transparent, no aggressive selling whatsoever. I will buy with them again. Oh and I LOVE my car! It's exactly what I wanted. I am overjoyed.

They can improve by doing their job in the service department. I had my vehicles towed there because it wouldn’t start and the one time it did, it was smoking. I figured I’d take it to dealer because of recalls that may be the cause of the smoking engine. Also thought they could do state inspection and oil change. My vehicle sat there for 3 or 4 days and only thing done was charge the battery. They followed up with ~ $2k worth of work that had nothing to do with anything. No state inspection done even though they said the did it, so they called me several times demanding pay, but I was at WORK doing my job successfully. Finally got some free time and made payment. Get a call ~ 2days later stating they never did the inspection after all and if I would like to come in and do it since I already paid. I said NO and wanted refund. Well, I had to argue over a couple days to get the refund. Worst place you can take your car. Salesman are your typical vultures and are not “friendly” if you’re not serious about purchasing. Never buying Hyundai brand again. This place ruined it for me.
