I wanted to trade in my old tucson for a new one, but I wasn’t sure if it was possible. So, I called South Point Hyundai and they said that people do trade in all the time. Shawn Hamze called me a few minutes later and he became my contact. At first, I just wanted to see some numbers, but he was so great and understanding of what I needed it and could pay for that I decided to get a new car. I didn’t feel any pressure and he provided a great customer service. I highly recommend this dealership and Shawn Hamze.

Look, we all know buying a car can be intimidating and

Look, we all know buying a car can be intimidating and stressful. I went here expecting the typical jazz sales people do with the “let me talk to my manager”. My experience was 100% the opposite. I came in trading in my Audi and I feel the customer service was so much better then the Audi dealer. At no time during the process did anyone try to upsell me anything or add extended warranties or other items. Plus when I requested to remove some accessories. They easily said no problem and didn’t charge me. While it’ll always take a long time at the dealership. This time was at least pleasant enough not feeling pressured to do anything I didn’t want to. Shawn and Sam both took good care of me and was very easy going and fun to conversation with. This is first time I’ve ever left a review for a dealership and it’s well worth it.

This is my second car purchase from this dealership.

This is my second car purchase from this dealership. My first experience was so great I came back to trade in my car. I wish I would have picked a different dealership because my experience this time has been horrible. I was dealing with Charay and Carter. Charay was my salesperson and Carter was the financial officer. See my review on Charay. Carter was fine. He did his job that day. But when my certified used car started to have issues 13 days after leaving the lot, no one really cared. My car was squealing while in reverse and it was becoming worse by the day. I called Carter and explained my situation and that I had bought the extended warranty. When I asked if I would be responsible for fixing whatever was wrong with my 13 day old car, he said probably. Once I explained that I had purchased the extended warranty and I have only had the car for 13 days and I have only put 150 miles on it he said bring the car to the service department and let them know what is going on. It sounds like "something we missed". When I arrived at the service department Pedro took my car to find out why it was making that awful noise. I let Carter know I was there. He sent over Charay. She came over with a list of repairs the dealership had done to my car and ready to fight and bully me into paying for repairs on a car I have had in my possession for 13 days. Charay said that it was probably something I broke and the mechanics will be able to tell I broke it. Great. Pedro came back a few hours later to tell me my rotors were put on wrong by the dealership. MY ROTORS WERE PUT ON WRONG! The charge was $275. I needed to get the charged cleared by management so he could do the repairs. Guess who was nowhere to be found after finding out that information? Carter and Charay. The service department was paging them both and calling their lines for an hour. After waiting an hour to hear back from someone, Preston in the service department went ahead and gave the go ahead to get the repairs done with no charge because it was the dealerships faught. Carter just stopped responding to calls and texts. Charay did call me back after about 3 hours to find out "what I needed".......Are you kidding me? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? No apologies. No real concern. Nothing. Now I am extremely worried about what else the dealership "missed" while certifying my pre-owned car. Don't bother reaching out to anyone else, no one cares about you or your car once the sale is made. I have made several attempts to get in touch with the GM. No return calls or emails. You will be discarded once you sign the contract. Do not buy a car from this dealership or this person.

Carlos is an absolute GEM! I had the pleasure of working with him yesterday. He was patient, kind, listened to me and my wants and I was in and out of there very quickly. My wife and I bought a Hyundai Palisade back in April 2022 from Pouya and it has been our best car buying experience to date. We definitely appreciate the dealerships loyalty to their customers. You don’t find that often especially in today’s market. However, nothing stands out like our salesman, Pouya. He went above and beyond to ensure we got exactly what we wanted and ahead of schedule. He kept us informed through the whole process and answered any questions we had. He was honest, intelligent, and never pushy! He’s the perfect salesman. Not only did he make the car buying experience excellent, but he has continued to follow up with us to make sure the car is meeting our expectations and to answer any questions or concerns we had. Amazing experience. 10/10. Five stars!! I had been to three other dealerships and then found South Point Hyundai through the AAA website. They had the exact car I was looking for. I called and spoke to Sonny Nasar. He explained everything to me, I went straight there and purchased my dream car! This is the first time I have bought a brand new car and was extremely intimidated by the whole experience. Shawn Hamze was a great help, very kind and has been great as far as following up with me and making sure I am truly satisfied as their customer. The finance person was Carter Palmer and he was amazing!! And I have to say, do not doubt this man based on his young age, he was incredible. He’s someone I would love to see where he is in five years, he’s really something else! The whole process was so quick, I got what I wanted and felt so respected and they even got me a better rate than my credit union offered me. Thank you so much Shawn, Carter, and Sonny. I will 100% recommend everyone I know in the Austin area (I live an hour away and it was well worth the drive) to go to South Point Hyundai when looking for their next car.

My girlfriend bought a brand new Accent from Derrick Far....

My girlfriend bought a brand new Accent from Derrick Far. As she was driving home from the dealership the rear passenger tire had a blow out. Thirty miles from the dealership. She called Derrick hoping for some help and he was unable to help her. She called the 24 hour roadside assistance that comes with every new car and she still (3 days later) has not heard back from them. After she got help changing her tire she limped back to the dealership and Derrick told her she could purchase a new tire. She asked to speak to a manager because to say the least she was not satisfied with the service. At that point the general manager Sonny Naser came in and belittled her buy telling her that the dealership was not responsible for tire damage. He told her it was like getting a chip in the windshield and that was not the drivers fault. After spending 2 hours on the side of the road now my girlfriend was being treated even worse at the dealership. She was final working with a manager Jared Castille who was making an effort to help her. She told him that she would like to return the car because the service was so terrible and he said no she signed a contract. She said she didn't know what to do and she would have to contact a lawyer, at that point he kicked her out of the dealership. She got in her old car and came home. Jared sent her a text later that night saying that they would take to car back. My girlfriend told him she would bring the keys back to the dealership in the morning and Jared told her he would be there to get everything worked out. My girlfriend and I went to the dealership the next morning and Jared Castille was off. I told an employee that we were there to return the keys and get a document releasing my girlfriend from her obligation, plus we needed the money that she put down on the car. The person who was helping us (I never got his name) kept insisting that we give him the keys. I told him we would keep the keys because that was the only thing we had to show for our purchase and that they would get the keys when she got her money and document. The debate was getting loud and Sonny Naser came out and told us to get our "white trash pieces of xxx" out of his dealership. At that point I realized why Derrick and Jared were such despicable employees. If one single person had told my girlfriend "oh my gosh I am so sorry this happened we will send someone right away to assist you" this review could have been 5 stars.

Sam E was great to work with. I was looking for a specific vehicle and he had it on his lot; he sent pics and we planned a time that day. We discuss financing option via text as well. Upon arrival he sent me immediately out to test drive, and he got my car back for trade-in appraisal. Even though we had done alot up front, we still had a hard negotiation over #'s and he stuck with me and had a great attitude. It was a 4 hour process (arrival to departure)...it was a Saturday (super busy day for them). Sam got to know me personally and shared about himself, that's the name of the game in sales...he made sure I left with a hot coffee and bottled waters and even offered an early plate for dinner! FINANCE was my favorite, Sheldon was AWESOME to work with! I also got to know him personally, and we shared lots of laughs! This guy was PHENOMINAL! As for Management I worked with Mike Ortiz...no BS with this guy ;-).

We drove 2 hours to go see 2 used cars next door at the Audi dealership. I’d been working with a salesman there and he had them ready for me when we got there. As we finally pulled up, someone else was pulling up in my car that I was pretty sure I was going to get. They had just finished test driving it and bought it. We were just 10 minutes too late. I was pretty upset so we walked next door to the Hyundai dealership and were immediately greeted by friendly, personable people. I told them I was in the market for a Palisade and Jay came up and showed them to us. He was extremely knowledgeable about them and taught me everything I needed to know without wasting any of our time. He was honest, caring, smart and efficient. We were given a better deal on the Palisade, but less on my trade. I started feeling unsure about it and decided to go home and think about it, and then the sales managers Mike and Sonny came in and made sure we were happy by offering me what the other dealerships were for my trade, making them the best deal. Not only did I get the best deal, but I felt taken care of, I felt like I was valued by being there. I’ve been to a lot of dealerships searching for the right car and the right deal, but it’s about more than that. There are so many yucky salesmen out there that only care about making a sale and you know they are just saying what they need to say to try to make the sale, including lying to get it. I finally found a place where I didn’t get that yucky feeling from them. We have a Hyundai dealership 5 minutes down the road from where I live, and I’ve been there many times while shopping for my car. I can say with full confidence that this location is well worth the 2 hour drive, and then some, for the way they treat their customers. Thank you Jay, Mike, and Sonny, for making my dream car purchase finally come true!!!

Lease quote was too high

I was interested in getting a lease for a G70. I spent the prior month studying how to calculate lease payments and even built my own spreadsheet to help do the math quickly (i.e. in a dealership). I verified my spreadsheet by using actual lease deals in Texas found on the internet. I did all this research because I know dealers will take advantage of the complicated lease payment math to benefit themselves. Sure enough...the lease payment they offered to me was extremely high for the price of the car they were quoting me. Fortunately, I didn't fall for their trap and I walked away from the deal. BTW...This happened at each of the three dealers I tried to get a lease payment quote from so make sure you do your homework before negotiating any lease with any dealer.

Look, we all know buying a car can be intimidating and stressful. I went here expecting the typical jazz sales people do with the “let me talk to my manager”. My experience was 100% the opposite. I came in trading in my Audi and I feel the customer service was so much better then the Audi dealer. At no time during the process did anyone try to upsell me anything or add extended warranties or other items. Plus when I requested to remove some accessories. They easily said no problem and didn’t charge me. While it’ll always take a long time at the dealership. This time was at least pleasant enough not feeling pressured to do anything I didn’t want to. Shawn and Sam both took good care of me and was very easy going and fun to conversation with. This is first time I’ve ever left a review for a dealership and it’s well worth it.

My girlfriend bought a brand new Accent from Derrick Far....

My girlfriend bought a brand new Accent from Derrick Far. As she was driving home from the dealership the rear passenger tire had a blow out. Thirty miles from the dealership. She called Derrick hoping for some help and he was unable to help her. She called the 24 hour roadside assistance that comes with every new car and she still (3 days later) has not heard back from them. After she got help changing her tire she limped back to the dealership and Derrick told her she could purchase a new tire. She asked to speak to a manager because to say the least she was not satisfied with the service. At that point the general manager Sonny Naser came in and belittled her buy telling her that the dealership was not responsible for tire damage. He told her it was like getting a chip in the windshield and that was not the drivers fault. After spending 2 hours on the side of the road now my girlfriend was being treated even worse at the dealership. She was final working with a manager Jared Castille who was making an effort to help her. She told him that she would like to return the car because the service was so terrible and he said no she signed a contract. She said she didn't know what to do and she would have to contact a lawyer, at that point he kicked her out of the dealership. She got in her old car and came home. Jared sent her a text later that night saying that they would take to car back. My girlfriend told him she would bring the keys back to the dealership in the morning and Jared told her he would be there to get everything worked out. My girlfriend and I went to the dealership the next morning and Jared Castille was off. I told an employee that we were there to return the keys and get a document releasing my girlfriend from her obligation, plus we needed the money that she put down on the car. The person who was helping us (I never got his name) kept insisting that we give him the keys. I told him we would keep the keys because that was the only thing we had to show for our purchase and that they would get the keys when she got her money and document. The debate was getting loud and Sonny Naser came out and told us to get our "white trash pieces of xxx" out of his dealership. At that point I realized why Derrick and Jared were such despicable employees. If one single person had told my girlfriend "oh my gosh I am so sorry this happened we will send someone right away to assist you" this review could have been 5 stars.

Once I got my car home from the lot, I was showing my partner the features of the car and we both noticed the front camera was cracked to the point of affecting visibility for the front view. I went back the next day and let the staff know of the issue. They told me the warranty might not cover it because I had already taken the car home, and it could have happened on the ride home. Sure, that's reasonable, but I have since called multiple times, stopped by multiple times (each time told that Chris in service was not available) to see if I can get it fixed, regardless if I have to pay for it or not. Nobody has ever returned my calls or emails. Even Eddie Gomez, the Customer Relations Manager, has not returned my calls or emails. So, Eddie, why did you reach out with a generic email asking how my customer service was if you never intended to actually provide me with any customer service? So, as much as I love my car, and I'm happy I got it, I am still driving around with a busted front camera and nobody at Hyundai has responded to me.

I can't even tell you how amazing my experience with Timmy Wiles was. He called me at 9am, based on my request for a vehicle they had, by noon my new car was in my drive way. We did everything over the phone and signed papers when Timmy personally delivered the car to my house. He explained everything to me (the finance guy Sheldon also explained the warranty, gap insurance, and other perks when he called me to go over the finance options) Timmy showed me how the new features work and set me up with Bluelink. Again I can't even explain how easy the process was. I love the new car and am so greatful for the wondeful experience.

I wish I could say I had a great experience here, but I didn't. I don't completely fault our salesman, Anthony, as I feel he was trying, but it just wasn't going well. We set up a test drive appointment for a used car for my sister. When we arrived, it took a bit to find our salesman. The car was not cleaned and the radio was on full blast when we got in to testdrive. I felt that was not professional, but not that big of a deal. After driving, we noticed a window crack and it took a while to get the carfax to make sure it was repaired properly. We got through that and decided to purchase the car cash/non financed. While they were getting the paperwork, we asked if they planned to detail it and fill the tank (as the salesman mentioned this during our testdrive). They said they would do it while we did the paperwork, but no one ever came to get the car to get it detailed. Since we didn't want to wait for that, we scheduled to pick it up 3 days later. We turned down the extra warranties with our salesman and stayed with the original advertised price, which given the market, we felt was fair. We then went to the finance office where they tried to sell us more warranties of which we repeatedy said no. (That was getting very frustrating). When the paperwork was printed, the price of the car was about $400 more than was advertised on both the sticker and on the internet. When I asked about this we were told there was a $399 delivery fee. So we asked if it was going to be delivered and they said no the fee was for the transport, processing, detailing, and cleaning of the vehicle. (Note: The car went from Pflugerville to South Austin and that was there where we purchased it.) I felt this was pretty shady to not be up front about those costs and to realize we were basically paying $400 for it to be detailed, cleaned and given a full tank of gas. To make matters worse, when we came back 3 days later, at a scheduled time to pick up the car, and after calling ahead, the car was not even detailed. It didn't even look like it had been washed. We had to wait for the gas to be filled, the tires appeared to be shined up, but the car itself was dirty inside and out. I even took pictures. The dash and radio were completely dusty, there were splotches from something spilled and dirt on the inside doors. We also had to walk across the lot to go get the car. (And I was even in a boot because of a foot injury a few days prior) The salesman just said the people detailing do a poor job, but never offered to correct it. Also - why didn't they bring it to us ready, knowing we were scheduled to pick it up? This was horrible service, whether you are financing or dropping $30k cash on a car....unacceptable. The only reason I gave the employees 2 stars is they were being respectful and friendly.to my family. I had honestly considered purchasing a new Genesis from them, but I have decided I will be purchasing that elsewhere. Hate to leave a poor review, but hope they do some work on their customer service and pricing transparency.

This is the best Hyundai dealer I have ever used for service. All departments were great. They were extremely polite and professional. I spoke with Kim and Amira in the Service Department when I made my appointment and had to change it.. Pedro in the Service Department was very polite and efficient. It didn't take long for him to setup everything for the repair. Also, Preston, the Service Department Manager, went well beyond the usual service expected in making arrangements for me to be able to pick up my car at closing time. I would recommend this dealer to anyone for their excellent service.

Derrick was a pleasure to work with. Derrick shoots straight and got us into the car that we wanted as expediently as can be expected. I came in with my own financing and was not constantly pressured to let Southpoint meet/match my rate. The same approach carried over to add-ons (warranty/maintenance/gap/etc). I really appreciate the way that the products were presented and allowed to speak for themselves. Upon providing information, it was simply a matter of yes/no on my end with absolutely no pushiness. I cannot say the same for previous new car buying experiences at other dealerships. This was a welcome and refreshing change from what I've come to expect. I am genuinely grateful to Southpoint Hyundai for the transparency and respect every step of the way. Along with just doing the job, Derrick has a genuine passion and deep knowledge for the products he is selling. Derrick's enthusiasm for his craft and for Hyundai/Genesis was the best part of the experience as there is always the inevitable wait times during the car buying process and the informed conversation filled that time nicely. Congrats to Southpoint for hiring this guy. He is not phoning it in. He does an awesome job of evangelizing the brand and lets it sell itself. Also want to thank Tim for welcoming us upon arrival and getting us into the test drive and to Sheldon for getting us in and out of financing. It was a pleasure dealing with all of you. If the service side at Southpoint is as good as the sales side, we may be an all-Hyundai household soon. Like I mentioned in my last "additional comments", Gopal was very professional and friendly. He has no rush in closing the deal, talking about the car, or taking time during the test drive. I really appreciate that... it helped us feel comfortable and not rushed. He was friendly and personable, honest and helpful. Would definitely recommend him as a sales staff. Same goes for Matthew, who helped us during the post-purchase experience.

Although my 2022 (brand new) was repaired the manager Steve was unsympathetic to my disappointment with the service crew. The person who picked up my car smoked in it. He also programmed several radio stations on my radio, had every window open including the sunroof, had the a/c all the way up, as well as the radio volume. I now open my door to smoke rather than a New Car Smell. Noone has reached out to me. This is very disrespectful and unacceptable! Stay away from South Point

I purchased a new Hyundai Venue in September of 2020, and at the time was told they couldn’t find my spare key, so they would be getting me a brand new one. There were then 2 weeks of being told I’d get the key in the next couple days, only to be told another couple of days when that day arrived. I finally got fed up and asked to speak with a manager, and that’s when Steve came into the picture. He then continued to explain that the key had just been ordered that morning. Here I am 2 & 1/2months later, and I still don’t have a spare key. And guess what? Steve told me that it just got ordered last night and now won’t be here until next week. Will never do business with this dealership again.

I called today to schedule a service appt.

I called today to schedule a service appt. My wheel bearings are going out on my car. Not sure what woman I was speaking with, she just answered the phone and when a requested the service dept. she asked if I needed to schedule work done. I would hate to name someone and it is incorrect but it won't accept the review without it. I was told nothing available until April. I have a full warranty and have to have my car to get to work. I drive a lot of miles to and from work and I don't want to be driving down the interstate and have my tires fall off. She told me I could call RoundRock but they're backed up until June or "at least that's what other customers have told her" so maybe I could call them and see if that's true or not. Why would I want later than sooner?....just a thought. She also said they aren't affiliated with any other Hyundai dealer and maybe Kyle dealership could get me in but I'd have to call around. I told her I really need my car and the point of calling Southpoint is due to the fact that I bought my car there and I have the full warranty that was paid for and it wouldn't be covered anywhere other than the dealership. Her response seemed to me she could care less, too bad, so sad. She offered no solutions just we're not affiliated with any other dealerships. Really crappy customer service. Didn't even offer the phone number to other dealerships. At least that would have been something. Not trying to be a Karen, but this is ridiculous. I don't think I'll be buying another Hyundai when this one's paid for. The warranty was a deciding factor, but if I can't get taken care of when there's a problem, then it's not a plus.

This is a follow up review for previous review on Dec. 9th. After getting the car back and driving it for two weeks it died again in the same manner. The response from Alejandro was " Sorry that happened to you but there is nothing we can do to help you". I was referred Hyundai Roadside assistance which is a total JOKE! Very very disappointed in this response and the service from this dealership. I would NOT recommend this service department to anyone. I would not currently recommend Hyundai to anyone either.

The dealership had our car for 55+ days. The original service department manager left the company one day after we had arranged to leave the car here for repairs. They were communicative when contacted . Time for repairs was drawn out by additional problems encountered during repairs and long delivery of parts. When the car was finally back in our possession after transport and 61 days away the aux starting battery was dead. This is somewhat disappointing. More disappointed in Hyundai than the dealership service department.

I took my Kona in so they could fix the recall on my car! I have been hearing a ticking sound for awhile. Not too long ago I had oil changed so you know it’s not ticking do to lack of oil. The ticking has not stopped. The guy in shop said my Mechanic didn’t hear a ticking and that my car is fine, when I know it is not fine. The workers there did not give a crap about us or the car. This was the single worst customer experience I have ever...

This was the single worst customer experience I have ever had. The Service Advisor and on-site Genesis Concierge had a communication failure so the items to be handled during my appointment were not accounted for by the advisor and her attitude was horrible. Pro tip: never throw your colleagues under the bus in front of a customer. We’re not there to take sides and really don’t care about how busy you are. The worst part though was that the mechanic failed to properly secure the Under Cover to my vehicle and it detached as I was on the highway on my way home from the dealership. This caused a major safety hazard and shows that this dealership does not have the best and brightest working for them, nor do they check their work to assure a vehicle is safe to drive after service. They also failed to top off all fluids despite signing off on doing so. I have no confidence in South Point Hyundai and will never do business with them again. I will never buy a part from them and they will certainly never touch a vehicle I own again. I was planning on buying a G70 in the fall and this experience and the way the ABS recall has been handled will definitely take the G70 out of consideration. I have communicated my experience with this dealership to Genesis USA and they recommended another dealership in the area to fix the mistakes of South Point Hyundai.

When we told him we didn’t want the warranty, his demeanor and attitude changed and he was smacking his lips, huffing, and just giving an attitude about our reasons why. I would not recommend this man to anyone. Anyone who works in finance that can’t handle a ‘no’ to a warranty without having a tantrum about it, shouldn’t be in finance.

I felt that they really cared. When I told them about my situation they were more than willing to help me out. The service manager was outstanding. The North Austin location could learn a thing or two about customer service and giving a xxxx from the South location. I bought my used car just a few months ago and started having car issues the very first week of having the car, a transmission issue as well as a AC issue. I called and called and everyone blew me off or told me they couldnt help me. My existing warranty that was left on the car was about to run out and they told me they couldn’t get me in to fix the issues and I was left not knowing what to do. I called the South location I was able to get an appt within the following month and they fixed my car in 3 days. If you want to buy Hyundai go to the South location. The North location is trash. Big xxxxxxto the South location.
