What's the Difference Between the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe XL?

Here at South Point Hyundai, we have some lineup changes in 2019 which revolve around the Santa Fe lineup. There's now the Santa Fe and the Santa Fe XL for the 2019 model year. That has people asking, what's the difference? Let us explain.

The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is a five-passenger vehicle, which is a change for the model year. It now features a 185-horsepower four-cylinder engine standard, as well as a 235-horsepower engine with the Limited 2.0T and Ultimate 2.0T editions. It boats 35.9 cubic feet behind the rear seats, and 71.3 cubic feet when you fold down the rear seats.

The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe XL is a seven-passenger vehicle. It gives you more space onboard with up to 160 cubic feet of interior cargo volume, leading the way among many competitors. There's also ample legroom in the third row to give everyone comfort. You can opt for second-row captain's chairs as well. The Santa Fe XL also uses a bigger engine with a 290-horsepower V6 onboard. Come 2020, the Santa Fe XL will make way for the all-new Hyundai Pallisade, which will have the same features and dimensions, with a new name and refreshed look.

What's similar for both vehicles is that you're going to find plenty of convenience and safety. The 2019 Santa Fe and Santa Fe XL off standard touch displays with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ to give you smartphone integration. There's also the likes of automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection, lane departure warning, and more to keep you safe.
